We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Small Works Manager to join our client’s growing team in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to lead and develop a busy Mechanical Small Works division within a well-established and forward-thinking business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing mechanical projects valued up to £100k, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while maintaining excellent client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

You will oversee the estimation, planning, coordination, and delivery of mechanical small works projects across a range of commercial and end-user environments.

The role will involve managing labour allocation, subcontractors, project programmes, and project costs while ensuring all works are completed on time, within budget, and in line with Health & Safety and quality standards.

You will also work closely with the wider MEP Projects division to support collaboration across departments, identify new business opportunities, and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing mechanical small works or general works projects
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services and project delivery
• Experience preparing quotations, estimates, and technical proposals
• Ability to manage subcontractors, labour, and project programmes effectively
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good commercial awareness and organisational ability
• Proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork and operations
